When you think of classic Disney attractions, there are probably some that come to mind.
Pirates of the Caribbean, for example — will always be a classic. Then there’s Jungle Cruise and those punny Skippers. However, “it’s a small world” is also a classic Disney attraction, but that ride will soon be getting a bit of a Marvel makeover.
Tokyo Disney Resort has announced that Groot will be added to its version of “it’s a small world” to create “it’s a small world with Groot.” The updated attraction will premiere in winter 2025 and run for a limited time. It will feature characters from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe but with an “it’s a small world” style. This will be the first time Marvel characters will appear in an attraction at Tokyo Disney Resort.
Here’s how Groot will be incorporated into the ride: He is currently on vacation and visiting his Marvel friends around the world, in the various locations depicted on “it’s a small world.” However, all your favorite familiar children, animals, and Disney characters will also remain on the ride. Groot is about to have a HUGE adventure. All we can say is, “I am Groot.”
Note that this means that Tokyo Disney Resort’s “it’s a small world” will close in fall 2024 to make room for Groot and his friends. The exact opening and run dates will be released later.
