NEWS: Disney World DELAYS Lengthy Pool Closure

When it comes to planning that perfect Walt Disney World vacation, sometimes unforeseen closures can damper your plans.

Along with attractions, restaurants, and shows, Disney World resorts are no stranger to refurbishments — that includes hotel pools. If you and your family make it a priority to take a dip in the swimming pools at least once during your vacations, then you’ll want to take note of this future pool closure at one of Disney World’s popular resorts.

Recently, Disney announced a change in schedule for the imminent closure of the Fantasia pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. The new refurbishment timeframe is January 2025 through April 2025, a full year after the initial scheduled maintenance period.

Initially, the pool was set to close from January 2024 through April 2024 for routine maintenance. With this new announcement, guests don’t have to worry about pool accessibility early next year at All-Star Movies Resort but instead should be mindful when booking for 2025.

The Fantasia pool WAS one of three pools scheduled for refurbishment in early 2024. At this time, both the Fuentes del Morro Pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Doubloon Lagoon at Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter are still scheduled to close in January 2024.

The Magic Brooms will be out of commission in early 2025

Guests staying at the All-Star Movies resort in 2025 during the scheduled maintenance should be made aware that they can expect to see or hear construction during daytime hours.

Despite the Fantasia Pool closure, guests can still swim in the Duck Pond Pool, a hockey rink-shaped pool inspired by The Mighty Ducks film series.
