What’s the status of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man at Marvel?

Fans showed up big time for Spider-Man: No Way Home and the movie even come to theaters for a second time in 2022. But will we see more of Peter Parker in Tom Holland form? Holland previously said that there had only been “conversations” about his future as Spider-Man (EW), so what’s going on now? We’ve got an update!
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kevin Feige (President of Marvel Studios) shared a BUNCH of updates on the future of the MCU.

One update was about Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. The interviewer noted that Feige had mentioned “Tom Holland’s Peter Parker” and talked about how “Spider-Man: No Way Home” had been a huge hit.
Then Feige was asked, “Do you have any updates on when we might be seeing Peter Parker again?” Fiege responded, “All I will say is that we have the story. We have big ideas for that, and our writers are just putting pen to paper now.”

Well, that’s not exactly much news but it’s a start! Tom Holland fans: start crossing those fingers that we’ll get more concrete news in the future.

In terms of other updates, Feige was also asked about mutants and how they (and the X-Men) might play into the future of the MCU.
Feige was quite tight-lipped. He shared that Marvel is “just now tapping into arguably one of the biggest aspects of the publishing history.” He said “The question is how to do it and when to do it, and that’s something we’ve been working on for years. Now we know. But we’re not going to talk about it.”

Feige also commented on Harrison Ford’s character, Thaddeus Ross, in Captain America: New World Order. Feige noted that the “Thaddeus Ross” that Ford will play is “the president of the United States in the film.”
He continued, “There’s a dynamic between President Ross and Sam Wilson. They have a history together, but in this film, we’ll be seeing the dynamic between Captain America and the president of the United States in a way that is just incredible.”

And what about Fantastic Four? Well, Feige is excited about that too. He said, “There’s certainly been versions of it [on screen], but never inhabiting the storytelling of the MCU. And that’s something that is really exciting for us.”
And it sounds like more news will be revealed soon. Feige shared, “People will start to hear more about that soon. We plan on that being a big pillar of the MCU going forward, just the way they’ve been in the comics for 50 or 60 years.”

Seems like there’s a LOT for Marvel fans to look forward to, so we’ll continue to keep an eye out for updates and let you know what we find.
