3 Disney Attractions Are Nominated for Visual Effects Awards

There is a reason Disney theme parks are some of the busiest in the world.

Disney is constantly pushing the boundaries on new experiences inside and outside of the theme parks with new technology and patents. Disney World’s newest rides like Rise of the Resistance and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind have long wait times every single day because guests want to see the newest and best Disney has to offer. Now, 3 Disney attractions have been nominated for awards!

Each year, the Visual Effects Society hosts awards that honor the best in visual effects. Although the awards put a lot of focus on movies and television, there are some theme parks nods as well!

In the “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project” category, 3 Disney attractions were nominated. This includes the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster in EPCOT…

…and the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, also called the Star Wars Hotel. At this hotel, guests are fully immersed in the world of Star Wars 24/7 during their stay.

The final Disney attraction on the list is actually over on the Disney Wish cruise ship! The Visual Effects Society nominated Avengers: Quantum Encounter. This is an interactive restaurant experience on the new cruise ship.

The awards take place February 15th, 2023 where the winners will be announced. We’ll just have to wait and see if one of these Disney nominees will take home the win!
