Beware — some things are banned from Disney World.

You can’t pack things like weapons, wagons, noise makers, glass containers, and more when visiting the parks. However, according to Disney fans, there are some other things that should be banned from Disney World — let’s see what they are!
We took to the AllEars Facebook page where we asked our readers,”If you could BAN one item from Disney World, what would it be?”
One popular answer was paper straws. A few years ago, Disney made a corporate-wide move to reduce plastic waste and this included the introduction of paper straws in the parks. While paper straws are better for the environment, many guests find that paper straws get soggy quickly.

Although we don’t think paper straws will be banned from the parks anytime soon, you can bring your own reusable straws to the park to avoid using the paper straws! Grab this set of Reusable Collapsible Stainless Steel Straws on Amazon for $8.99 if you aren’t a fan of the paper straws at Disney.

Another popular answer we got from readers is balloons. In most theme parks and Disney Springs you’ll find themed balloons for sale, but it seems like some Disney guests want these to be banned.

One reader said, “Balloons. With everything Disney does that’s environmentally conscious, it shocks me they still sell balloons.” Disney has not indicated that balloons are going away anytime soon, so we’ll have to wait and see if these are eventually removed from the parks. Currently, balloons are not allowed in Disney’s Animal Kingdom so that they don’t impact the animals in any way.

Bubble wands were another consistent answer to this question! These are a very popular toy with kiddos in the parks and there are SO many designs and characters to choose from. Around the holidays you can also find a snow version of these bubble wands, however it seems some Disney fans are not a fan of these.

Many of the popular answers weren’t exactly “items” — several readers said they wish the Park Pass Reservation system would be banned at Disney World. This system was introduced when the parks reopened after the months-long closure due to COVID-19 and it requires guests to not only buy a ticket, but to also make a reservation to get into a specific park.

Based on past comments from Disney executives, it doesn’t seem like the system will go anywhere anytime soon. Iger commented on the system but said he wanted to talk to Josh D’Amaro before making further comments on it. The system has been one of the more controversial changes that Disney made since coming back from the pandemic. We’ve got helpful tips for how to use the system and mistakes to avoid.

Another answer that wasn’t exactly an item but was so popular we felt the need to include it — “it’s a small world”. Although this is one of Disney’s most iconic and oldest attractions, several readers want to the ride to be banned from Disney World. One reader said “‘it’s a small world’ just because you can’t get that song out of your head!!!!!”
