3 Big Construction Changes in Disney World

We’re almost to 2023, which will be a BIG year for Disney World!

Magic Kingdom

We’ve got the opening of the TRON coaster in Magic Kingdom in the spring, followed by the completion of the EPCOT transformation towards the end of the year. There’s so much to look forward to, and today, we’re walking you through all the big construction updates in Disney World recently!

EPCOT

This week we’re starting out in EPCOT where we’ve got some big changes over at Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana. The rock structure with the Te Fiti symbol has been more fully decorated with paint, moss, flowers, and other details. It looks like more of the walking path has been cleared as well — could we see some paving coming soon?

In other areas around the World Celebration construction zone, we’ve seen more vertical structures start to pop up. This building near the World Nature bathrooms is coming along quickly.

We’re interested to see how all of this fits together in the end!

Hollywood Studios

Moving on to Hollywood Studios, we’ve got a small update at Roundup Rodeo BBQ. There are now little flags on top of the restaurant with stars drawn on them — they look like they were colored with crayons!

There’s not much else we can see right now since most of the construction is covered by tarps or the big wall of scrim. The restaurant is supposed to open by the end of this year, but no opening date has been announced yet!

Disney Resorts

And finally, let’s talk about Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, where construction has taken a big step forward! The dirt pile here got significantly bigger this week.
