Disney Commemorates a Full Year Since Broadway Went Dark

It’s been one year since Broadway closed due to the ongoing global health crisis.

Throughout the year, we’ve had some virtual opportunities to catch pieces of the beloved Disney on Broadway musicals. Disney hosted a special live stream in honor of Disney on Broadway’s 25th anniversary, and recently the cast from Disney’s The Lion King performed on Good Morning America. But, there’s no doubt that we’re still missing the magic that happens during the live shows, and Disney is feeling it too.

Today, Disney on Broadway posted a message to all the fans on the one-year anniversary of the closure. They shared “Today marks a full year since Broadway went dar, so we pause to honor the artists and audiences who long to return to the shows we love.”
