On its surface, WandaVision might seem like a parody of classic sitcoms, but there is so much more going on with the show.

After watching the first two episodes, we scratched our brains trying to figure out what all the show’s hidden details and Easter Eggs really mean, and got even more invested in trying to figure it all out in episode 3. And we love how the series pulls the classic sitcom parodies and Marvel mysteries all together!
Part of what makes WandaVision work so well, though, is its carefully thought out soundtrack, including original music by Christophe Beck (Ant-Man and the Wasp), and theme songs composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (Frozen).

According to Marvel’s website, Beck approached each episode’s era with a very specific tone in mind. He said, “For each era, the music is a loving homage to the sitcom scores typical of the time period. This involved not only the instrumentation, but also the composition style.”

The same goes for the original theme songs written for each episode. For the first episode, Anderson-Lopez wanted “an optimistic group of voices singing jazzily (though not too jazzily!) about the love between these two — and the main question of the first episode, whether two Avengers in love can pass for normal in a typical American suburb.”

The second episode’s theme song is “sexier” and “flirtier,” according to Lopez. He said, “We decided to put lots of raunchy trombones commenting, and in one part we also used my favorite ’60s keyboard sound, the RMI Rock-si-chord—a sort of electric organ harpsichord sound.”

And you can now listen to the soundtracks for both episodes online here! The soundtracks are available via Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Pandora, YouTube Music, and Vevo. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest WandaVision news!
