New Novel ‘Poe Dameron: Free Fall’ Gives Us the Exciting Backstory of the Reckless ‘Star Wars’ Pilot

We’re ready to join the resistance with the new novel inspired by the Star Wars saga.

Poe Dameron is a dashing pilot who leads the resistance alongside his friends Rey and Finn. The three are featured together in the Star Wars films: The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker. Poe’s backstory was hinted at in the third film. It’s time to get the whole story in the new young adult novel written by Alex Segura!

Poe Dameron: Free Fall begins a few years after his mother passed away. Teenage Poe has grown distant from his father who was a pilot for the Rebellion in years past. The two have had trouble connecting since the passing of Poe’s mother. Poe runs away from home in order to find himself and what discover the kind of person he is meant to be.

The book is reminiscent of other Star Wars stories and spin-offs like Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire. Perhaps one day Free Fall will inspire an origin story film like Solo: A Star Wars Story!

The coming-of-age origin story is sure to be packed with adventure and Star Wars references. We’re excited to dive into the world of Poe and see what he encounters on his journey!
