Between new Marvel series to a new show from the Star Wars universe, we’ve got a lot Disney+to look forward to on !

And now, a series that’s closer to our Earth is apparently on the operating table to come to the streaming service…
According to Variety, a reboot of Doogie Howser, M.D. is in development, but it will star a female lead as the new 16-year-old half-Asian, half-white medical prodigy who saves lives in Hawaii. The show reportedly has a working title of Doogie Kealoha, M.D.

The new series is set to be headed up by Kourtney Kang as writer and executive producer, along with Jake Kasdan, Melvin Mar, as well as Dayna and Jesse Bochco. Dayna and Jesse are the wife and son respectively of original series co-creator Steven Bochco, who is not tied to the reboot at this time.
