We go to Disney Parks every day, so we know what works for Disney outfits and what doesn’t. We even have an Instagram page and a whole AE Style collection completely dedicated to finding the best outfits.

Here are some dress code mistakes we see in the parks that make you look like a newbie — and here’s what to wear instead.
1. Flip-flops

Yikes! Flip-flops are not worth it in the parks. You’ll find that cheap flip-flops cannot withstand the miles and miles of walking. Choose the wrong shoes for Disney, and you’ll end up sitting on a bench, frustrated and in pain.

Instead, we recommend full tennis shoes! They have better traction for rainy summer days and are meant to be worn all day. We also love the ankle support and the thick cushion on the bottom.

If you insist on letting your toes feel the sun, our team loves their Chacos. These outdoor sandals are meant for rougher terrain, so they can handle all the cobblestones and textures you’ll walk on in the parks.
2. Thick Pants

Florida heat can be brutal, and if you’re not ready for it, it can make your trip a lot harder. I can speak from experience: When my family visited, we ran straight from Orlando International Airport in our jeans to Magic Kingdom. We have pictures of us with bright red faces and sweat dripping down our faces (and jeans) to prove it.

If you wear pants, there are great linen options that are light and flowy. We love having pockets so we can keep our personal items close by when we need them.
Yoga pants or other athleisure options are also great for a more streamlined and tailored look.

They’re usually quick-drying, so you’ll be ready to run to your next attraction after a trip to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
3. Tight skirts

Tight skirts always seem like a good idea in the morning when you’re in your hotel room, but as soon as you hop on your first attraction, you realize what a bad idea it was. Especially when you get on the second. And third.

We love tennis skirts as an option! We always pick ones with shorts underneath, so you don’t have to worry about fixing yourself throughout the day.

The ones with pockets are always our favorites.
4. Minnie Ear Headbands
They come in SO many colors! They glitter. They shimmer. They can match your outfit, or your mood, or the park you’re visiting. You can have a pair for each land in the park, for each attraction, or even the parking lots!

But one thing that real Disney Adults know is that Minnie Ears can HURT. By the end of the day, that pressure point behind your ears is screaming. And not in the “we scream for ice cream” fun way. But in the I need some pain relief, a dark cave, and a zero-stimulation way.
And that’s why we grab a classic baseball cap or bucket hat!
They’re great for keeping the sun out of your eyes. They protect your face from those harmful UV rays. And let’s face it, they’re just plain cute!
Not to mention, everyone can wear them! Pack a handful, and the whole family can wear them because a solid baseball cap knows no age or gender limits; it’s cute on everyone!

There are so many outfit options at Disney World, but these are some of our favorite pieces we use in almost every outfit. Keep following AllEars for our favorite tips and tricks for the parks.

I wore flip flops every day at Disney & Universal with no regrets!
I do as well. Running shoes kill my feet!
