Roller coaster fans, theme park-lovers, and thrill seekers everywhere — buckle up, because Six Flags Over Texas is about to unleash something truly monstrous…

The world of roller coasters is getting quite the addition in 2026. This year, Six Flags Over Texas is introducing a record-setting giga dive coaster that’s poised to debut as the tallest, fastest, longest, and most inverted dive coaster on the planet. If you’re not scared of this beast yet — read on. The terrifying details of this coaster already have us shaking in our boots!
Tormenta Rampaging Run will be situated in the new Spanish village, Rancho de la Tormenta area of Six Flags Over Texas, and is set to debut at some point in 2026 — and yes, it’s going to defy the laws of physics. Traditionally, a “giga coaster” refers to any coaster over 300 feet tall — but there’s never been a giga dive coaster until now.
Tormenta blends the vertical drama of a dive coaster with the grand heights of a giga — and then piles on multiple massive inversions, including a record-breaking vertical loop.

This unique coaster is shattering SIX (6) World Records:
- Tallest Dive Coaster: 309 ft
- Highest 95 Degree Beyond Vertical Drop: 285 ft
- Fastest Dive Coaster: 87 mph
- Highest Immelmann Inversion: 218 ft
- Tallest Vertical Coaster Loop: 179 ft
- Longest Dive Coaster: 4,199 ft
This ain’t Space Mountain, folks. We’re talkin’ some serious Gs, speed, and airtime that will challenge even the bravest thrill-seekers. This is the kind of ride that will haunt a coaster bucket list for years.

And that drop — yeah, we need to talk about that big drop. Tormenta Rampaging Run will elevate riders to a height of 309 feet before plummeting them down a record 285 ft at a beyond vertical 95 degrees without warning. And when Six Flags says “beyond”, it means “it’s not straight down, it’s on the other side of straight down!”

This coaster and the new area are themed after the Running of the Bulls in Spain, and you’ll certainly feel that kind of heart-pounding exhilaration if you’re brave enough to ride!
Guests should expect bright colors, festive music, and a thematic plaza called Rancho de la Tormenta in the area that’s making this ride its home. And once you’re done riding (or decide to admire from afar), you can indulge in food, music, and Spanish-Latin flair — including the new Cocina Abuela restaurant!

It’s currently being built by the legendary Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard, and is coming along nicely, per a recent Instagram video from Six Flags. The ride’s skeletal structure already dominates the Arlington skyline!
