Southwest Airlines just underwent some massive operational changes, but luckily, they didn’t get rid of their CHEAP flight sales!

Sure, you’ll now have to choose your seat (and can pay extra to pick an even better one), and baggage is no longer free, but you can still find cheap airfare if you pay attention to their sales. Lucky for you, we happen to keep an eye out for Southwest Sales, and you’re not going to want to miss this one.
Hurry! You have until 11:59 PM PT on January 30th to book flights with this Southwest sale — but you can snag one-way flights for as low as $49 if you do!

To get the sale fares, your travel dates must be between February 17th and May 20th, 2026. Keep in mind that the tickets are nonrefundable, and seats, days, and markets are limited, and the sale applies to continental U.S. travel only.

There are some other important terms you need to know:
- Travel is valid on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Fares valid on nonstop service where indicated; if not indicated, fares are valid on single connecting service.
- Displayed prices include all U.S. and international government taxes and fees.
- Points bookings do not include taxes, fees, and other government/airport charges of at least $5.60 per one-way flight.
- Seats, days, and markets are limited.
- Fares may vary by destination, flight, and day of the week and won’t be available on some flights that operate during very busy travel times and holiday periods.
- Travel is available for one-way Basic fares unless otherwise specified.
- Fares may be combined with other Southwest Airlines® combinable fares.
We spotted one-way flights between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and several cities, so this may be the perfect excuse to plan a spring trip to Disney World!

Passengers flying Southwest Airlines will now have assigned seats. Gone are the days of open seating and getting to choose from the open seats on the plane. Now, passengers can choose from three different seating options and will receive an assigned seat before boarding the plane.
Seating options include Extra Legroom, Preferred, and Standard. Extra legroom seats are at the front of the cabin and near exit rows, with three to five additional inches of legroom compared to standard legroom seats. Preferred seats are standard legroom seats located near the front of the cabin, and standard seats are standard legroom seats located at the back of the cabin.

When purchasing tickets, passengers will select from four different fares: Choice Extra, Choice Preferred, Choice, and Basic. Choice Extra will be in groups 1-2 for boarding, can choose an extra-legroom seat at booking, and includes two free checked bags and more. With Choice Preferred, you can choose any preferred seat at the time of booking and will board in groups 3-5. Choice fare allows you to select a standard seat at booking, and you will be in general boarding. Basic fare will get an assigned seat at check-in and will be the last to board the plane.

We’ll be on the lookout for even more Southwest Airlines sales and updates you need to know about. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest travel and Disney news!
