2 NEW Disney World Hotel Pool CLOSURES You Need To Know About

We’ve got an update on one small detail that can make a big difference in your Disney World vacation plans.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort pool

When you’re dreaming about your next Disney World stay, pools might not be the first thing on your checklist, but for many, they’re a big part of the experience! If you’re traveling early in the year, there are a few hotel pool closures worth knowing about before you finalize your plans.

If you’re planning a Disney World trip early this year, there are a few good details to know before you arrive — especially if pool time is a big part of your vacation plans! A few Disney World hotels will have temporary pool closures tied to routine maintenance and refurbishment projects, and while nothing here is unexpected, it can definitely impact how you plan your stay.

Old Key West Resort

Here’s a quick, easy breakdown of what’s going on and what it means for hotel guests.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is currently in the middle of exterior maintenance that’s expected to continue through late 2026. What that means for those staying at this hotel is that you may notice some construction activity around the hotel grounds, a few blocked views, or the need to take alternate walking paths from time to time.

Admiral Pool

As part of this work, the Admiral leisure pool will be closed for routine maintenance expected to last through early May. You may see or hear work happening in that area during daytime hours, but the majority of the hotel (including dining and other amenities) will remain open and available. The main Stormalong Bay pool complex, shared with Disney’s Beach Club Resort, is not affected by this closure.

Disney’s Beach Club Resort & Beach Club Villas

Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, similar exterior refurbishment work is also underway and will continue through later in the year. Again, this could mean some impacted views and occasional detours while walking around the hotel.

Beach Club Tidal Pool

From mid-January through early May, the Tidal Leisure Pool will be closed for routine maintenance. Hotel guests may notice or hear refurbishment activity during the day, but the good news is that most resort amenities will remain open, and you can still enjoy the larger pool options during your stay.

Disney’s Old Key West Resort

Disney’s Old Key West will see a shorter, more contained maintenance period. From early January through early February, the Turtle Pond Pool, Turtle Pond Pool Spa, BBQ area, and playground will be closed for routine maintenance.

The pool

During this time, hotel guests are encouraged to use the Sandcastle Pool or one of the hotel’s other leisure pools, including South Point Pool and Miller’s Road Pool. As with the other Disney World hotels under refurbishment, you may see or hear maintenance activity during daytime hours, but there are still plenty of ways to enjoy the resort.

Sandcastle Pool

Pool closures aren’t always fun news, but they’re part of Disney World’s ongoing effort to keep hotels looking great and running smoothly. Knowing about these closures ahead of time gives you the chance to plan around them or adjust your hotel of choice if pool access is a top priority for your trip.

As always, we’ll continue to keep a close watch over their progress and bring you along for a look at everything once it’s finished! Stay tuned with us at DFB for all the latest updates.
