A Famous Disney Actor Has Been Named King Of A Popular Mardi Gras Parade!

America is turning 250 years old in 2026! Disney is celebrating by bringing their special fireworks to Disney+ and by updating a popular attraction.

In New Orleans, actor Patrick Warburton will lead the Bacchus parade to celebrate the country’s major milestone.

According to NOLA.com, Patrick Warburton will serve as Bacchus LVII.  Parade officials announced Warburton on January 5th ahead of one of the most famous Mardi Gras parades, which is on February 15th, 2025.

The Krewe of Bacchus has chosen Warburton to serve as the celebrity monarch as the krewe celebrates its 57th parade and America’s 250th birthday. Clark Brennan, captain of the Krewe of Bacchus, said, “The Krewe of Bacchus will proudly celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary at this year’s parade. Patrick’s legacy as a distinguished actor in America’s finest traditions exemplifies the values of family, charity, and service to the community that have made our country great. There is no better monarch we could have chosen to lead our 57th celebration.”

Patrick Warburton’s career has spanned nearly four decades and includes film and TV like The TickSeinfeld, Family Guy, Friends, The Emperor’s New Groove, and more. In the Disney community, he’s best known for his role as the Chief Flight Attendant during the Soarin’ preshow. He’s even reprised the role a handful of times since it became beloved by fans. He is even in Zootopia 2 as Mayor Winddancer!

Warburton and his wife have also raised more than $40 million for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital! For 16 years, they’ve hosted an annual celebrity golf tournament called “The Warburton” to raise the money. The theme of this year’s Bacchus parade is “Bacchus Celebrates America 250,” and it will feature 32 hand-painted floats. Each float will be designed by Kern Studios, and they’ll display different eras and events throughout American history, like the Roaring 20s, World War I and II, National Parks, women’s history, and more.

Past celebrity monarchs have included Shaquille O’Neal, Bob Hope, Danny Kaye, Will Ferrell, Nicolas Cage, and Anthony Mackie. The Krewe of Bacchus 2026 parade will take place on Sunday, February 15th, at 5:15 PM on the St. Charles Avenue route. Congratulations to our favorite Chief Flight Attendant!
