Packing for a Walt Disney World vacation can be stressful. Making sure you have everything you need for a magical trip can take a lot of thinking and even some research.

However, sometimes it’s just as important to know what NOT to pack. From items that are officially prohibited by the rules to those that’ll simply make your trip a big hassle, you want to avoid ALL of these items. However, fear not. There are alternatives!
We will always tell you to bring a water bottle with you because you can get refills at any of the free water bottle refill stations throughout Disney World. But if you bring the wrong water bottle, you could end up with one that leaks and gets everything in your day bag wet. That’s why we recommend the Owala FreeSip Water Bottle because it’s insulated steel, and it won’t sweat. PLUS, with its FreeSip spout and push-button lid with lock, you don’t have to worry about leaks.

You can even do what we did with our Owala water bottle — we got the characters at Disney World to sign it. So you can turn it into a useful souvenir, too!
Another thing you’ll regret bringing to Disney World is a big, bulky stroller that doesn’t fold up easily. You’ll need something that you can fold up quickly and efficiently, especially on Disney World transportation. This Summer Infant Convenience Stroller is small enough to not be a big hassle PLUS it’s big enough to store a lot of your baby must-haves on.

This stroller has over 20,000 reviews on Amazon with an average 4.5 rating, so it’s preferred by a lot of parents. The canopy even has a pop-out sun visor, which you’ll need in Florida.
You also don’t want to bring the wrong clothes and outfits. Don’t plan on wearing uncomfortable or fancy clothes to the parks. You’ll just end up miserable. You can still look cute, though, by pairing your favorite Disney tee with something like this Tennis Skirt.

It’s stretchy, breathable, and is made of moisture-wicking fabric. It also has biker shorts built-in with a pocket big enough for your phone, so you can keep it handy.
If you bring the wrong shoes to Disney World or try to bring shoes you haven’t worn before, you WILL regret it. Trust us; this is a lesson we’ve all learned the hard way. But we do have a favorite sneaker we will ALWAYS recommend: the Hoka One Women’s Track Road and Running Shoes.

These shoes will protect your feet, legs, and back while you’re walking ALL over Disney World (there will be SO MUCH WALKING), and you’ll be able to go all day without worrying about sore feet and blisters. However, we still recommend wearing them BEFORE your trip, too.
Did you know Disney World hotels have a rule about the kind of swimming goggles you can wear in pools? You can’t wear the goggles that are like swim masks (you know, the kind meant for snorkeling?). So if your kids want to wear swim goggles, bring something like these Kids Swim Goggles.

These goggles are both free of PVC and Latex, and they have a “no hair pull” strap for a comfortable fit. They provide a watertight seal and have anti-fog and UV protection.
