The Urgent Warning We’re Issuing for Water Rides at Disney World

Water rides can be a controversial topic in Disney World!

For some people, a ride on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom is the only way to break the heat on a hot day in the parks. For other people, a ride on Kali River Rapids is a personal Lightning Lane to a ruined day. No matter what camp you fall in, we have a warning for you before you get on any water ride in Disney World! 

When it comes to water rides at any theme park, they can really divide the group on vacation. Some people consider them an absolute must, some people refuse to get on them, and others feel totally indifferent. No matter how you feel, we can almost all agree that the worst part of the ride is when (somehow) only your butt gets soaked. 

Stick with us here, we’ve been on every water ride in Disney World, Universal, and more, and we know that is a common experience! Somehow, you’ve sat down on this boat ride, and you remain dry all over your body except your butt, which is arguably the most annoying way to get soaked on a water ride. After years of water riding, it finally occurred to us to stop scooting back all the way in our seats.  

Even the water rides that aren’t intended to soak you often have water that pools in the back of each seat or bench while you’re on the attraction. Frozen Ever After is a huge offender of this, along with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and even Pirates of the Caribbean at times.

Even if you don’t mind getting wet, we would argue you probably don’t want just a soaked seat and a wet behind. If you’re looking to really cool off in the heat, cups of free ice water and a long indoor show will be your best option. If you’re really hoping for a water ride, sitting in the front row of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure or hopping on Kali River Rapids is going to be your best bet!

No matter how you feel about water rides, at least now you have a solution to avoid getting even more soaked when having some fun. Unless that’s what you want, then we’ve given you a solution to ensure maximum soakage. Either way, the world is your oyster!
