I’ve traveled all over the world trying food at theme parks, local restaurants, and just about everywhere in between. There’s one place that I will go to every time I travel with absolutely no guilt — McDonald’s!

On a recent trip to Hong Kong, while I was in the airport, I headed to McDonald’s, per usual, and lo and behold, my favorite item was on the menu, even in China.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of trying a McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish, let me introduce you to the best menu item on the menu.

With that crispy batter and that slice of American cheese, it might be contested if Filet-O-Fish deserves to be on a menu, but if it’s not on the menu, I’m not going. Even the tartar sauce on top adds a level of creaminess, and while some argue that cheese doesn’t go with fish, they must not have grown up with this classic menu item.

At the Hong Kong International Airport, there was even a Happy Meal Filet-O-Fish, so even the smallest fish filet fans can get in on the action. It came with a bowl of corn and a hot, fresh lemon water. It costs about $4.65 USD!

If you just want the burger without the sides, it costs about $2.74, which is much cheaper than the $5.89 it costs in the States.

Could I have ordered McWings, which is their fried chicken option (uh, hello, why don’t we have that in America?) instead of my “fried” and true classic? Sure, but it wouldn’t have hit as amazing as a Filet-O-Fish.

Okay, don’t worry. I definitely tried a lot of incredible food in Hong Kong, especially at Hong Kong Disneyland, but sometimes when you’ve been traveling for an insane amount of hours, you need something reliable.
I’m always trying new food around the world, so make sure you’re following AllEars for more!
