We’re still fresh off the recent opening of Epic Universe, but we’re already turning our attention to the NEXT Universal projects! A new park coming to the UK, Universal Horror Unleashed is coming to Las Vegas AND Chicago, and we recently got a construction update on the new Universal Kids Resort coming to Texas!

We’ve been checking up on the progress of the new Universal Kids Resort coming to Frisco, Texas, and it looks like work is moving along pretty quickly!

New Hotel

While we can’t totally confirm what’s what, we think we got a really great glimpse of the new hotel — which will be decked out in a multi-color design and host 300 rooms for anyone looking to stay on property. We don’t yet have full details on the theming or what the hotel’s amenities are, but we’re hoping to hear more soon! Here’s a peek at the concept art for the hotel.

We also got a good look at some construction on what appears to be new attractions coming to the park!

Construction

We recently learned about a new Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous family coaster coming to the park, and it’s possible we’re already seeing it being built!

Is that a new coaster?!

While all we can do is speculate, it does appear that the construction is moving steadily, and progress could be immense from month to month.

Universal Kids Resort is located in Frisco, sitting on 97 acres of land off the Dallas North Tollway and Panther Creek Parkway. This kid-friendly theme park resort will feature all sorts of attractions, such as rides, shows, and character meet-and-greets.

Shrek and Fiona at Universal Orlando

Built for only a one to two-day vacation, this small resort will still be packed with characters and areas inspired by Shrek, Minions, Spongebob Squarepants, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, Trolls, Puss in Boots, and Gabby’s Dollhouse. It’s slated to open in 2026.
