Comparing Universal and Disney World can be a fool’s errand, as the two resorts each offer their own distinct flavor and perks. However, there’s one way Universal’s latest park comes out on top!
There’s a lot to love about Epic Universe, but one particular thing about the park stands head and shoulders above Orlando’s other theme park offerings, including Disney: HYDRATION.
Staying hydrated is one of the most important things one can do while visiting a theme park, especially during Central Florida’s notoriously hot summers.
Unfortunately, it’s a bit more difficult to stay hydrated at Disney World. There aren’t nearly as many water bottle refill stations as one would expect (and the ones they do have often aren’t cold). You can get free ice water at quick-service dining stations, but the cups are so tiny that you have to keep going back if you really want to stay hydrated. The only other option is to pay for a pricey water bottle.
On the other hand, Epic Universe has water bottle refills seemingly everywhere, and they’re actually cold. Plus, you can get ice-cold water from a Coca-Cola Freestyle Machine, and those are everywhere as well. You still need something to fill with water, so I recommend bringing a reusable water bottle or even just holding on to your soda cup.
