Sesame Street just announced that the beloved show will be available on Netflix! We’ve got all the details right here.

Later this year, new episodes and past seasons of Sesame Street will be available to watch on Netflix. For the reimagined 56th season, the show will “feature fresh format changes and the return of fan-favorite segments like Elmo’s World and Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck.” Netflix says we can expect new ways to play with Cookie Monster opening his own Cookie Cart, and the ability to explore Abby’s Fairy Garden. Additionally, episodes will now center around one 11-minute story.

The show released the following statement on social media:

“We are excited to announce that new Sesame Street episodes are coming to Netflix worldwide and PBS KIDS in the U.S. The support of Netflix, PBS, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting serve as a unique public-private partnership to enable Sesame Street to continue to help children everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder.”

This announcement comes after Warner Bros. Discovery decided not to renew its deal with the program for its streaming service Max, which will soon be HBO Max again.

When the show was with Max, new episodes debuted on PBS months after the HBO premieres. In this announcement, it was confirmed that the episodes would debut on Netflix and on PBS on the same day to make the show more accessible.

There’s no exact premiere date just yet, but we’ll be looking out for that news. In the meantime, Orlando visitors can see the Sesame Street characters at SeaWorld Orlando. Yes, there’s an entire land themed around the show!
