One of Our FAVORITE Disney Shortcuts Is CLOSED for Construction

Getting around the Disneyland Resort is about to get a bit more complicated.

Disney California Adventure

Last week, reports emerged that one of our favorite out-of-the-way shortcuts at Disney California Adventure was closing for construction. During our most recent visit to the park, we confirmed with our own eyes.

The path connects Cars Land (near Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters) with Avengers Campus (near the ancient sanctum).

Each side of the path features themed construction walls, with the Cars Land side featuring walls that align with the land’s aesthetic…

Avengers Campus

As announced at last year’s D23 Ultimate Fan Event, two major new attractions are coming to Avengers Campus. The higher profile one will be Avengers Infinity Defense. According to Disney’s synopsis of the upcoming attraction, “Technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere. Recruits will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside the likes of big, and small, heroes. You also just might find yourself face-to-face with King Thanos, too.”

The second attraction, while slightly smaller in scale, will feature a massive return as Robert Downey Jr. will voice Tony Stark as part of the Stark Flight Lab attraction.

According to Disney, guests will sign in “gyro-kinetic pods” and roll along a track before stopping in front of a giant robot arm. This robot arm will hoist you into the air where you’ll make several high-speed maneuvers inspired by Iron Man and some other Avengers.”

Construction on the Avengers Campus expansion began in January, and the project is expected to be completed within the next few years. Stay tuned to AllEars for more on the Avengers expansion.
