My Dreams Are Coming True! There's a REAL-LIFE Disney Castle for Sale

I’m a simple, reasonable person. I don’t ask for much. All I want is an authentic, sprawling castle in the European countryside. Is that too much to want?

When I learned that a real castle is up for sale in Ireland, I had an instant flashback to my Hallmark movie dreams. But it gets better. This isn’t any old castle. It was purchased by Roy E. Disney, nephew of Walt Disney (and vice-chairman of the Walt Disney Company). Do you know what that means? This is a LITERAL Disney castle!

Behold, the Coolmain Castle, located in County Cork, Ireland. It’s a stunning nine-bedroom, six bathroom estate that comes fully furnished, which is a relief, because I’m not sure if my current IKEA furniture would really fit the whole castle vibe.

OK, we need to talk a little more about the history of this place — it’s half the appeal, right? The Coolmain Castle has been home to the Disney family for the past 35 years. It was purchased by Roy E. Disney in 1989, “and comprehensively restored and updated, and meticulously maintained ever since.”

This estate overlooks the sea (because, of course, it does), and comes with about 56 acres of land. Hope you have a good lawnmower. According to the MyHome real estate listing, “the gardens and grounds are glorious,” and based on these photos, we believe them.

I know what you’re thinking. “This is nice and all, but how much does it cost?” Well, you’ll be pleased to know that for just €7.5 million, this Disney castle could be yours. (But really, don’t buy it, because I’m just waiting to hit the lottery, and then this thing is MINE.)

Alright…now that we’ve all gotten a good look at this place, we can daydream about living in the perfect Disney fairytale castle. New life goal unlocked!
