Everything You NEED To Know About Hong Kong Disneyland’s 20th Anniversary Celebration

It hasn’t been talked about enough, but Hong Kong Disneyland will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year!

It’s a year for a few milestone Disney Anniversaries. In the states, Disneyland Resort will be celebrating its 70th Anniversary. Over in Hong Kong, Disneyland will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary. It’s crazy to see how far apart the two openings were! The 20th Anniversary for Hong Kong Disneyland starts June 28th — and we have all the details that you’ll need to know!

The Managing Director for Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Michael Moriarty, stated “We’re thrilled to kick off The Most Magical Party of All on June 28! Our incredible cast members are putting their all into getting everything ready for the year–long party. This milestone celebration will be filled with immersive entertainment, extraordinary moments, and boundless Disney magic and surprises — we cannot wait to welcome everyone from around the globe to HKDL’s most unforgettable celebration yet!”. It looks like Hong Kong is preparing for a huge celebration!

Dive into the “Day–to–Night Party” with “Three Unmissable Festivities”! The celebration will showcase how Disney entertainment has evolved to new heights, and will have three unmissable entertainment experiences. This will include a brand–new anniversary–only castle stage show, largest–ever parade, and the biggest nighttime spectacular in the parks history. The party vibes are said to be elevated to an unprecedented level!

“Disney Friends Live: Party at the Castle!” will be the party kickstarter! This is a brand-new stage show available exclusively for the anniversary. It’s a electrifying 15-minute concert type show, that promises to get everyone into the party spirit. It’ll have high-energy pop music, dazzling dance
moves, and even interactive moments. Best of all, it’ll have the gorgeous backdrop of the Castle of Magical Dreams. Mickey and Friends, along with Duffy and Friends, will debut their exclusive 20th-anniversary party outfits — as the stars of the show. The show will also include, Princess Aurora, Tiana, and Belle — and they have brand-new party outfits to show you! The show will feature the new 20th-anniversary anthem, two brand-new original songs, and stunning visuals! The use of LED screens, giant balloons, colorful banners, fog jets, and cold pyro, will grant guests a stunning and unique one-of-a-kind party experience.  

The “Friendtastic!” Parade is a must see, as it will be the largest parade in Hong Kong Disneyland’s history! The parade features 11 stunning floats, and over 100 performers — including more than 30 of your favorite Disney characters. The parade will entertain guests, as Mickey and Friends lead the party. The floats will be themed around iconic Walt Disney Animation Studios films such as Zootopia, Big Hero 6, and Encanto; Pixar Animation Studios films like Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Turning Red, Inside Out, and Up; as well
as Duffy and Friends, and of course Disney Princesses! The Encanto float is said to bring “Casa Madrigal” to life. It’ll feature dancing tiles, glowing doors, and flapping shutters. The parade will have an extraordinary amount of detail to each and every character, and float. The parade will debut four new original songs!

That brings us to the final unmissable event, and the grand finale – the nighttime spectacular “Momentous: Party in the Night Sky“! Each day, the party will reach a high note with this big finish. It’s said to be the grandest show ever at the park, spanning the area from the Castle of Magical Dreams to Main Street, U.S.A. It will dazzle with eight multimedia elements including extended
large-scale 3D projection mapping, drones, illuminated water projections, choreographed water fountains, flames, lasers, theatrical lighting, and pyrotechnics effects. This is sure to blow guests minds away, it’s blowing ours just from reading it! The sky will illuminate with music and memorable moments. The show will feature many Disney characters — such as the Three  Good Fairies from Sleeping Beauty, and characters from The Princess
and the Frog. It’s an immersive 360° spectacle like nothing seen before.

“Momentous” will begin with the Fairy Godmother and a flick of her wand. She will remind Mickey that it’s time to host the Most Magical Party of All! Fairy dust will reveal a glowing “2” and Mickey head in the sky — forming the signature 20th anniversary logo. It sounds like a remarkable experience, and we don’t want to miss it!

The grand celebration will also have 80 brand-new food and beverage items, over 300 exclusive merchandise items, complimentary digital party photos, and offer a 20th Anniversary Magical Party Room Pack.

It’s not an exaggeration to say this sounds like a celebration unlike anything we’ve seen before! We are dying to check this out, and we’re sure Disney fans from around the world want to experience it as well.
