NEWS: Val Kilmer, ‘Top Gun’ and ‘Batman Forever’ Actor, Has Passed Away

AP News has reported that Val Kilmer, known for his roles in Top Gun and Batman Forever, has passed away at the age of 65.

Kilmer passed away in Los Angeles surrounded by his family and friends. He died from pneumonia after recovery from throat cancer in 2024 when he had two tracheotomies.

In addition to his most famous roles, he also played Bravo in Disney’s 2013 film Planes.

He was the youngest actor ever accepted to Julliiard School at the time he atteneded and his first big role was in Top Secret! in 1984.

Kilmer also played a hotshot pilot, Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in Top Gun with Tom Cruise and later came back to be featured in Top Gun: Maverick.

He also had the honor of playing Batman in Batman Forever with Nicole Kidman.

In Kilmer’s 2021 documentary, Val, he said, “I have behaved poorly. I have behaved bravely. I have behaved bizarrely to some. I deny none of this and have no regrets because I have lost and found parts of myself that I never knew existed. And I am blessed.”
