Disneyland recently cancelled two shows in Disney California Adventure.
Disney California Adventure and the rest of the Disneyland Resort are about to start the resort’s 70th anniversary celebrations, but not before some MASSIVE changes take place. Per Disney, two shows at California Adventure are closing FOREVER.
If you’re visiting Disney California Adventure soon, don’t expect to see the Disney Junior Dance Party.
The Disney Junior Dance Party was a “high-energy dance party show, filled with favorite Disney Junior Characters and music!” — but after no warning, is officially at the end of its run.
The show officially ended on March 24th, 2025, and it’s not coming back.
The Disney Junior Dance Party featured a DJ playing songs from Disney Junior shows and featured appearances from several fan-favorite characters. It wasn’t the only casualty, however, as another show in Avengers Campus is closing soon.
“Avengers Assemble” is a popular rooftop stunt show featuring Captain America, Black Widow, and Black Panther fight Taskmaster — but the fight is ending soon.
Per Disney, the show will permanently end on April 5th, 2025.
On March 31st, 2025, Disney announced some additions coming to the resort.
“Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!” will debut at the Disney Theater at California Adventure park on May 16th, 2025 and will be a “must-see new stage production—inspired by Disney Jr.’s global hit series ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse’ and the upcoming ‘Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+’ debuting later this summer.”
The show will feature “upbeat original songs, plenty of interactive fun for the little ones, and appearances by beloved Disney characters to sing and dance with. In ‘Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!,’ Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse welcome guests to Mickey’s house for a fun-filled party. Their friends Goofy, Daisy, and Pluto haven’t made it yet, so Mickey and Minnie take the party on the road to find them, ultimately uniting everyone for a high-energy finale! ”
Other additions coming include a meet-and-greet with Rex from the Toy Story franchise as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. Rex will debut at Pixar Pier in California Adventure for a limited time beginning June 1st, 2025.
Beginning May 23rd, Pixar Pals Playtime Party is returning to Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park for a limited time, as well.
The show will be joined by “Stitch’s Interplanetary Beach Party Blast” at Tomorrowland Terrace, “a tidal wave of galactic-good fun. Stitch throws a space adventure filled with his favorite tunes, dance moves and surprises for all to enjoy!”
This dance-along will return most nights starting May 23rd and might “feature Goofy, Pluto, Chip ‘n Dale, Clarabelle and other beloved pals to bop with.”
