NEWS: New Permit Filed to Replace Rip Ride Rockit at Universal Orlando

OK, theme park fans. We need to talk. We know Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is closing, but Universal, do you have to remind us?

Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando just filed a new permit for Rip Ride Rockit, and we have some questions.

A massive roller coaster at Universal Orlando is set to close permanently in September 2025, and Universal hasn’t released any details on what will be replacing it. All we’ve heard is that it will “make way for a new experience.”

The new permit filed didn’t answer too many questions but did propose a new two-story building. It also proposed normal changes like new storm drains, sanitary, electrical, plumbing, and all of the elements that go into a building.

We don’t know what’s going on in the space at this time, but many fans are hoping for a Ghostbusters attraction. The Ghostbusters firehouse looks like a three-story building, but maybe they can make it a two-story building?

Rip Ride Rockit is in the New York area of Universal Orlando near Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon, Revenge of the Mummy, and Transformers.

We’ll be keeping our eyes open to see what’s coming to the space, but if you could choose any attraction to replace this coaster, what would you pick? Tell us in the comments, and follow AllEars to stay updated on everything happening.
