We’ve tested A LOT of products around Disney World to tell you what’s worth it and what’s not, but when we saw a sale for $15 shoes, we figured this would be an experiment too good to pass up!

Our team has researched the best ways to help you get through an entire day at Disney World successfully, including various types of water bottles, bags, and yes different brands of shoes. This time, it was my turn to hang up my normal flip flops for a chance to try out a pair of the cheapest shoes I’d ever seen.
As someone who tends to break a lot of the social norms when it comes to footwear in Disney World (and breaking all of our advice along the way for personal choice), it seems my editor came up with the perfect (read that as sneaky) solution to get me to wear tennis shoes. I spend most of my days when I’m visiting Disney World’s parks walking around in flip flops which has my entire team worried about me (and my well-being) constantly. Despite my assurances that this truly IS the most comfortable choice for me, I agreed to participate in an experiment with actual shoes.

In case you haven’t noticed by now, we’re BIG fans of ALDI and their stellar deals that could score you some great Disney merch and finds on the cheap. As a frugal millennial mom, I frequent ALDI’s stores in search of the best ways to really maximize our grocery budget but immediately find myself suckered into the ALDI Finds section and scanning for products that I could use at prices too good to pass up.

So when our team spotted $15 shoes coming up in the latest ALDI finds, they knew just who to throw this assignment to. So, I packed up and headed out to my local ALDI store (as quickly as I could on that week’s Wednesday because that’s when our store’s new week of ALDI Finds starts) and hunted for the perfect pair. If you’re planning on scouting out the upcoming ALDI Finds I’d recommend you do them quickly because they’re likely to sell out the longer you wait — especially if you’re looking for specific characters, colors, and sizes. Truthfully, even though they had just debuted on the shelves earlier that day, by the end of the afternoon my store was already slim in stock and I ended up grabbing the Ladies Memory Foam Trainers in the light grey and black pattern with a soft pink accent towards the bottom of the shoes.

The next morning was a whole new experience for me. I laced up my brand new $15 shoes (after taking a few pics to show you all and document the process) and headed out for a long day of reporting at Disney World. Actually, while I was there, several of you spotted me in the parks and if you know this isn’t my norm, you questioned why I had shoes on over my typical flops. But really…I didn’t hate them?

Hear me out, my feet for some reason crave a harder bottom surface so while some might have found the memory foam outsole too stiff, it seemed to be just right for me. I do also recognize that this was their first outing ever and I really put them to the extreme test for a whole day around Disney World. They didn’t receive the proper break-in they deserved before this test.

While their design was fairly basic and we’ll admit that it wasn’t the best quality of shoes we’ve ever seen, they seemed to hold up to the test of an entire day of walking and park hopping at Disney. After a full day of wear, you could start to see where the shoes had put up a good fight against the wear and tear and were starting to show they were beginning to break in. If you take a closer look around the heel, you’ll see where the shoes were beginning to show signs of use. Were they my favorite? Not really. Would I wear them again to get through a day at Disney World? I wouldn’t mind it. And, at $15 I was able to score them at an unbelievable price and would make an excellent option in a pinch or if you’re really looking for another cheap pair of shoes to pack for your trip.
