While we often talk about how hot it can get in Disney World during the summer, it can also get cold during the winter. You likely won’t be seeing lots of snow or very prolonged periods of temperatures below freezing, but it does get cold, and Disney World is currently under a cold weather advisory.

Cooler and wet weather has moved into Florida, and we want you to know what you can expect in the next few days. We don’t want you to be caught without the proper clothing!
Cold weather has arrived in Florida. Disney World is currently under a cold weather advisory. Some portions of Florida are even under a winter storm warning beginning at 1 AM on Wednesday, January 22nd. However, Orange and Osceola counties (which are where Disney World is located) are not under winter storm warnings, but Orange County is under a cold weather advisory.

Wind chill values are expected to be as low as 25 to 30 from 1 AM until 9 AM on Wednesday, January 22nd. You will want to be prepared for the cold weather. In addition to cold weather, Disney World will also be damp and dreary over the next few days. If you are heading to Disney World this week, make sure you have rain gear, coats, and cold weather gear ready to go.

According to WESH, high temperatures for Tuesday will likely not even reach the 60s, and then temperatures will drop overnight in the low 40s. In addition to the cooler weather, rain will also be in the area on Tuesday and Wednesday. There may be a few showers on Thursday, but a majority of the rain will be happening today and Wednesday. By Friday, it is expected to be dry but there will still be cool temperatures.

While Florida is the sunshine state, there will still be days with less-than-ideal weather. Make sure you are checking the weather as you pack and throughout your vacation to make sure you are ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at you.

For cooler weather, we highly recommend bringing a few options for layers so you can adjust as the temperatures change throughout the day. We also love bringing hand warmers and having texting gloves so you can use the My Disney Experience app without having to take your gloves off. Plus, you can always fit in some shopping or eating while you head indoors for some warmth.
