Southwest Airlines Offering NEW Nonstop Route In 2025

Alert to all travelers: Southwest Airlines is offering a new nonstop option in 2025!

Next year is shaping up to be a big one for Southwest Airlines. The company is introducing several changes, including extra legroom, technology system updates, switching to assigned seating, red-eye flights, and international partnerships. Southwest also announced a brand-new nonstop route along with several key details.

Last week, Southwest announced that, thanks to the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization Act of 2024 and the Department of Transportation, the airline has been awarded a new round-trip flight between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas.

Joining the new nonstop service will also be the only one-stop, no change service between DCA and Sacramento International Airport (SMF).

After Southwest Airlines’ nonstop service application was approved by the Department of Transportation, Southwest’s Vice President of Network Planning Brook Sorem said, “We believe more Customers will benefit from lower fares while enjoying the airline that offers legendary Hospitality and unrivaled flexibility.”

Service officially begins on Thursday, February 13th, 2025 and booking can be done now online at Southwest.com. From February 13th through March 5th, 2025, service will operate on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Service will become daily beginning Thursday, March 6th, 2025.

Southwest provided the following flight times:

(For service between February 13th and March 5th)

  • Depart LAS at 8:30AM, Arrive DCA at 3:55PM
  • Depart DCA at 4:35PM, Arrive LAS at 7:05PM

(For daily service beginning March 6th)

  • Depart LAS at 8:30AM, Arrive DCA at 3:50PM
  • Depart DCA at 4:30PM, Arrive LAS at 6:55PM

Of note, these listed times are for Monday through Friday and weekends may have slight variations.
