The count down to Epic Universe is on!

Orlando has some big things coming this year with major changes coming to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and, of course, Universal. With all of the changes coming, we’ve got some serious questions!
People have been talking about Epic Universe for years, but on the off chance you missed the memo Epic Universe is changing the theme park realm. Universal Orlando’s newest theme park is expected to open on May 22nd, 2025 and we have eagerly been awaiting its arrival.

Back in October tickets went on sale for our newest playground and it wasn’t as simple as buying a single day ticket. The only group that can buy a single day ticket is Universal Annual Passholders. If you’re not part of the AP group, you can only get tickets to Epic through Universal vacation packages.

Those multi-day vacation packages are for 3, 4, or 5 day vacations. By buying into the packages, you can get access to Epic Universe for one day with the other days giving you access to Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure.

You can easily purchase your vacation package on Universal’s website where you select your number of days, ticket options, and dates you will be visiting the parks.

Prices will vary depending on the number of days you purchase and the dates you’re going. What does that mean for annual passholders? Right now, nothing.

The big question we’ve been asking ourselves is how will annual passes work for Epic? So far, there is no annual pass option for the new park. Currently, you can buy a 2-park ticket or 3-park ticket for Universal with the third park being Universal’s waterpark Volcano Bay.

There are seasonal passes, power passes, preferred passes, and premiere passes available which range in prices up to $1,095, perks, and park access. (We typically go for the preferred pass.)

While we can’t be for sure, we can assume that eventually, those passes will become a 3-park pass option and a 4-park pass option (with a lovely little price increase with it.)

There is no option to buy an annual pass just for Universal Studios or just Islands of Adventure so we can assume there won’t be an option for an Epic Universe only annual pass. We’re hoping that within a few months, we’ll be seeing some annual pass chatter so we can head into Epic any time we want.

With all the talk of passes and tickets, what can you expect to find inside this brand new park? The new theme park will be home to 5 themed lands, 3 new resorts, many new attractions, and tons of new restaurants. The lands are Celestial Park, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, How To Train Your Dragon – The Isle of Berk, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – The Ministry of Magic.

All we know for sure is we are saving up now for whenever annual passes are finally available! While we wait for our answers in regards to APs, you can be sure we’ll be hunting for every little detail we can find in the new parks concept art and construction. Keep following AllEars for all of your Epic Universe news and updates.
