It is the time of year when we all reminisce about the year we have had, including comparing our Spotify Wrapped or Apple Music Replay with everyone else on social media.
It has become a yearly tradition at this point, and we always love seeing everyone else’s top songs and artists. Well, this year lots of companies are also jumping on board the reminiscing train and creating their own replay of 2024.
One of our favorites that we have spotted is the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) year in review. They included some “unverifiable” statistics about the past year, and we are definitely feeling a bit called out! There is no way they actually saw us trying to sneak in a quick pet on the TSA dog…right?
TSA used its year-in-review to educate us on some of their policies, but we can’t help but giggle our way through their statistics! TSA estimated that 136,209,842 people left water bottles in their carry-on bags, 87 people brought a microwave as their carry-on, and 56,213 people messaged about their “spaghetti policy.” In case you were wondering, a microwave can indeed go though security, although you will want to check with your airline on their rules.
It is also estimated that 18,579,432 (unverifiable though) people forgot to wear socks to the airport, and as people who often find themselves traveling to Disney World, we might be a bit guilty. You get into vacation mode and forget all about the fact that you are just wearing flip-flops. It is definitely a good idea to check your feet before you leave for the airport, walking barefoot across the airport floor is not a fun time.
Our favorite statistic has to be that 3,924,646 people tried to pet the TSA dogs. TSA even wrote that they are sure this number is actually way higher though. It is hard to resist petting the adorable working dogs, but unfortunately it is still a no to a quick pet.
The AllEars YouTube team also made a sort of year-in-review video in the style of a behind-the-scenes video. The team answered some of your questions, talked about their favorite memories, and gave a look behind the scenes at what goes into making the videos. You can check it out here:
