Have you ever subscribed to a streaming service just to watch a certain show or film, then canceled your account only to start a new one when the next series you want to watch premieres? If you have, you’re not alone. However, Disney is now introducing a new feature that gives you another, easier option.

Instead of canceling, Disney+ subscribers can now temporarily pause their account, and select a specific date they want it to be reactivated. The pause takes “effect on the first day of your next billing period, and you can continue streaming until then. Once the pause begins, you will not be charged and you will not have access to any content until the pause ends.”

When the pre-selected un-pause date is reached, the account will reactivate and a new billing cycle will begin. An account can also be reactivated early through an action on the user’s Disney+ account page.

Of note, those who purchase the Disney Bundle will also see pauses on the other streaming services that are part of the bundle such as Hulu or ESPN+. In addition, the pause also applies to any “Extra Members” on the account. These Extra Members will “see a message when trying to stream content and can view the pause status in their account settings.”

Disney+ subscribers who only wish to use the service to watch new shows or films can now pause their account instead of launching a new account every season and then canceling it. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney+ news.
