While Disney Cruise Line does not have a bag limit, space can be limited in your stateroom, so you will want to think about that when packing. In general, Disney Cruise Line will send you two luggage tags per person before you sail. At the port, you can request more if you have more luggage. We highly recommend carrying a bag with necessary documents and medication as well as a swimsuit to hit the pools as you wait for your stateroom to be ready.
You should plan to bring at least seven outfits, one for each day of your trip. Most itineraries have three to four port days, so think about what excursions you plan to do and prepare an outfit for each port day.

On days at sea, you can plan to dress casually. There are tons of activities on board, and you can spend the day relaxing at the pool or spa. We recommend bringing multiple swimsuits since many excursions are beach or water-related, and you will make a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

Each night for dinner, you will rotate between three restaurants. Each night has a different theme. While most nights are cruise casual, there is a Pirate Night, formal night, and semi-formal night. So make sure to pack your pirate best and two nicer outfits to wear to dinner. While the dress code at dinner is not strictly enforced, it can be fun to dress up and partake in the night’s theme! We also recommend bringing a light sweater as it can get cold in the Walt Disney Theater and some of the dining rooms.

Dress code is enforced at the adult-only dining locations, Be Our Guest and Palo Steakhouse. According to the Disney Cruise Line website, “Guests are requested to dress in a manner consistent with the restaurant’s atmosphere. Formal or semi-formal attire is recommended. Also permitted is dress-casual attire with a polished look, such as dress pants, jeans in good condition, collared shirts, dressy tops, and lifestyle shoes. Dress shorts are acceptable for brunch at Palo Steakhouse. Clothing such as T-shirts, swimwear, and sports attire are not permitted.” So, if you plan on dining at an adult-only location, make sure to pack an outfit that fits within the dress code.

No one wants to do laundry while on vacation, but if you need to, you can visit Fairytale Fresh Laundry on deck eight. Unlike the original four ships, the laundry on both the Wish and Treasure is much more accessible and bigger, making it easier to throw in a quick load or iron an outfit.

While it is good to be prepared for every situation, there are some things that you don’t need to pack or are not permitted to bring on board. While you may spend a lot of time at the beach or the pool, you do not need to worry about packing towels. Disney Cruise Line provides towels at all its pools, on Castaway Cay, and while debarking at ports of call.

Do not bring a power strip, as it will be taken out of your luggage. These pose a risk of fire, and Disney Cruise Line takes safety seriously. There are a variety of outlets, including USB plugs, in all staterooms. Don’t worry if you do bring one on accident; it will be waiting for you when you disembark the ship on disembarkation day.
You should also pack 100% of the things you need. The first is a sweatshirt or crewneck. It can get cold on the outside decks at night and in some of the lounges, so it is always good to bring one with you, just in case. We bring this crewneck when we sail aboard Disney Cruise Line!
As we mentioned, there is a Pirate Night, and while not required, you should bring your pirate best on board if you want to participate! It does not have to be much; it can be as simple as an eye patch and hat.
You will spend a lot of time in the sun, so it is good to stay protected. Make sure to bring sunscreen with you. We like to use this sunscreen in the parks and when we sail aboard Disney Cruise Line.
Did you know that soda is included on your Disney Cruise? While Disney does provide single-use paper cups, we like to pack a cup with a lid or water bottle to take our drinks on the go, like this Owala bottle!
If you are like us and want to save space in your luggage, we like to use packing cubes to keep everything organized. These are also great to take out of your luggage and store in the closet and shelving spaces provided in your stateroom.
You will also want to pack a spare room key. In order for the power to work inside your stateroom, you will need to insert your Key to the World Card in a slot to turn on the lights and run the air conditioning. We like to bring a spare card with us so we don’t end up leaving our Key to the World Card in our stateroom.

The correct answer is to lay out everything you think you need to pack, then immediately put half of it back in the closet!
I use this approach every single time or I’ll pack my entire closet! Haha!
