Lightning Lane Premier Pass, Disney’s newest and most expensive skip-the-line service that allows you to skip the line at most attractions across the resort’s two parks once whenever you’d like during the day, just premiered in Disneyland on October 23rd, 2024.

This new service is in addition to Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass currently available at Disneyland and Disney World. In Disneyland, it’s open for any and all guests willing to pay $400 a day, and we knew we had to give it a try to let you know how it works. Here’s just how fast you can get through EVERYTHING included in Lightning Lane Premier Pass in Disneyland.
Our reporter was in the park, ready for rope drop before 8AM, having successfully gotten Lightning Lane Premier Pass at 7AM that morning. Premier Pass allows you to ride every attraction included in the pass (which is nearly everything across Disneyland and Disney California Adventure) once during the day. You don’t have to pre-book when you’re going to experience the attraction — you can redeem it and walk up to tap in a second later.

Our reporter began their Disneyland day at rope drop, making Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run their first Premier Pass attraction of the day. From there, they rode EVERY Premier Pass-eligible attraction in the park, with the exceptions of “it’s a small world” (which is currently closed for refurbishment) and The Haunted Mansion (which is currently only using a virtual queue).

Our reporter wrapped their final Disneyland ride — Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin — just before 2PM PST, meaning it took roughly six hours to ride everything offered, including heavy hitters like the Matterhorn, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and Space Mountain. Furthermore, for the majority of these attractions, the wait time once our reporter scanned in was under five minutes. Some only took seconds to board. The title for the longest wait in the queue went to Indiana Jones with 25 minutes, more due to the length of the attraction’s queue and distance needed to walk than anything else.

After wrapping at Disneyland, our reporter hopped over to Disney’s California Adventure, crossing the esplanade to the resort’s second gate at approximately 2:30PM PST. Over the next roughly four hours, our reporter was able to ride *almost* every DCA ride offered via Premier Pass, including Guardians of the Galaxy: Monsters After Dark (of note, both the original version of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and the Monsters After Dark Halloween overlay are offered as Premier Pass attractions, but one must arrive early enough to ride the former. If the latter is already running upon arrival, the Premier Pass only allows one ride), Web Slingers, Soarin’, Incredicoaster, etc.

The only major attraction in the park our reporter was unable to ride was Radiator Springs Racers, which broke down in the afternoon and was still closed as our day wrapped up. Just goes to show that even a $400 Premier Pass is still subservient to breakdowns and technical malfunctions.

While Premier Pass certainly isn’t for everyone, it can be very useful if you’re trying to do everything you can in Disneyland Resort in only one day — those lines take up more time than you may realize! However, it is wildly expensive, so you’ll either need to budget for it ahead of time or be willing to forego some other expenses on the trip if skipping lines is more important to you and your group.
It was convenient to scan the same barcode over and over again and not focus on booking timed reservations at each ride. But that perk will cost you!

Lightning Lane Premier Pass will be $400 per person, per day in Disneyland throughout the rest of this year, and then be available between $300-$400 per person, per day in 2025 and beyond. Be sure to stay tuned to AllEars for all the latest Premier Pass news across both resorts!
