2025 is going to be a HUGE year for Disney World!
Some projects are wrapping up in the parks, while others get underway. There’s going to be lots to see, review, and experience if you’re planning a trip, but there will also be a lot of construction going on! So without further ado, we present 9 huge things coming to Disney World in 2025.
Test Track Refurbishment
Starting off strong, we’ve got the Test Track makeover, which is currently underway. This is set to open in 2025 with a new queue and new ride scenes. We’ve seen some concept art for the transformation, but Disney has been somewhat hush-hush about the plotline.
We know that parts of the ride will be inspired by its predecessor, World of Motion. The ride vehicles even look like a nod to the old attraction!

Spaceship Earth Lounge
If you’re an EPCOT lover, you’ll probably be VERY hyped about the new Spaceship Earth lounge coming in 2025. The new lounge will be inspired by the “stories, shapes, and enduring legacy” of Spaceship Earth.
The lounge will be located in the Spaceship Earth event space, which looks out over World Celebration. Based on the concept art, it looks like the perfect spot for a fireworks view!

Pirates Lounge
And speaking of cool new lounges, we’re yo-ho-hyped for the new pirate-themed lounge coming to Magic Kingdom. This one is also set to open in 2025.
We’ve been watching the area of Adventureland around Pirates of the Caribbean for construction updates, and we’re hoping to get more details about this lounge soon.

Villains Show
Recently, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy permanently closed in Hollywood Studios to make way for a NEW villain-themed stage show! This new show will debut in the same space in the summer of 2025.
The show apparently will feature several appearances by infamous Disney evildoers, such as Captain Hook, Maleficent, and Cruella de Vil as they “break through the glass” into our world. We can’t wait!

Zootopia Show
2025 is looking like it’ll be a good year for Disney entertainment, because in winter 2025, a new show will be coming to the Tree of Life Theater. Say hello to Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
Disney hasn’t yet revealed plot information, but they shared a concept art poster. Looks like it’s going to feature some of our favorite characters from the film!

Magic Kingdom Nighttime Parade
The new addition we were all hoping for is finally coming in 2025 — Magic Kingdom is getting a NEW nighttime parade! Starting in summer of 2025, Disney Starlight will appear and light up the park at night.
This new nighttime parade will use state-of-the-art technology to tell brand-new stories inspired by the movies we know and love, including “Peter Pan,” “Encanto,” “Frozen,” and more. And it is all brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy. It sounds stunning!

A NEW Hotel Perk
If you’re staying at a Disney World Resort in 2025, you’ll be able to take advantage of a NEW perk on your check-in day. Everyone staying in your room will get complimentary access to one of Disney’s water parks on that check-in day!
Since the water parks open on an alternating schedule, you’ll either be able to visit Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, depending on which one is open. But if you’ve never been to a water park before, this is a great way to get that experience!

Lots of Construction Walls
One unfortunate thing that will arrive at Disney World in 2025 is a LOT of new construction walls. Construction will be underway for several projects, including new additions coming to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.
For example, DinoLand, U.S.A. will be in the middle of its phased construction transformation to become Tropical Americas. We’ll be excited for the new land, but we’ll miss our old dino friends!

LATE 2024: New DVC Tower at the Polynesian Village Resort
And finally, we’ve got to mention the NEW Island Tower coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This Disney Vacation Club building is actually opening in December 2024, but it’s going to be brand-spanking-new in 2025.
It’ll have new hotel rooms and new dining offerings, and we can’t wait to check them out for ourselves. 2025 would be a great time to plan your stay!
