ANOTHER Popular TV Series Is CANCELED After 3 Seasons

Another TV series has been canceled after a short run.

A hit horror-comedy series has been canceled on USA Network and other TV networks. It’s not uncommon to see a series end prematurely, as we’ve seen a string of networks canceling shows recently. Unfortunately, if you’ve enjoyed Chucky, you won’t be seeing new episodes appearing.

Chucky is a horror-comedy series based on the killer doll movie franchise. The show has aired on USA Network, SYFY, Peacock, and other streaming sites. But now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, after the third season, the show will not be renewed.

Creator Don Mancini shared a statement, “I’m heartbroken over the news that Chucky won’t be coming back for a fourth season, but am so grateful for the killer three years we did have. I’d like to thank UCP/SYFY/Peacock/Eat the Cat, our awesome cast and Toronto-based crew (the best in the business), and finally, to our amazing fans, a big bloody hug. Your incredible #RenewChucky campaign really warmed Chucky’s cold heart. Chucky will return! He ALWAYS comes back.”

The show followed the creepy Chucky doll that turned up at a yard sale and turned a town into chaos as a string of murders stirred up hypocrisies and secrets. It starred Zackary Arthur, Bjorgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Brad Dourif, Devon Sawa, and Jennifer Tilly.

The Hollywood Reporter critic Daniel Fienberg reviewed the series in 2021, stating, “The violence is bloody but not gory. I’ve always found the franchise more funny than scary, and that continues here. The series is a tiny bit unnerving when it shows how humans interact with the doll, but when it’s just Chucky stabbing people with pointy objects — his versatility is captured in the various sharp implements that spell out the series’ title in the credits each week — I’m more likely to just giggle.”
