📣 Calling all pin traders and pin trader hopefuls! 📣

Pin trading is an incredibly popular Disney World hobby and for good reason! Essentially, you purchase a Disney pin or starter pack, and then you can trade with Cast Members and others around the parks and hotels. There are some important pin trading rules to know, but we’re talking about some unspoken ones you might need to know about too!
Ask EVERY Gift Shop If They Have a Pin Board
You never know where you might find that pin you’ve been looking for — so make sure you ask at every gift shop if they’ve got a pin board, even if you don’t see one sitting out in plain sight.

Chances are, there’s a pin board hiding around there somewhere and you might end up finding something rare or special!
Check at the Front Desk of Your Hotel
Speaking of unexpected places, the front desk of your Disney World hotel likely has a pin board — one that might not even see a lot of action, which is great news for you.

Since these pin boards likely don’t get used quite as often as the ones in the parks, you probably have a better chance of scoring a pin you haven’t seen anywhere else yet.
Only Trade for a Mystery Pin If You’re Willing to Take a Gamble
Occasionally, you may get the opportunity to trade for a mystery pin, which is pretty exciting since mystery pins can be some of the best ones. But, don’t trade for a mystery pin unless you’re willing to take a gamble — and part with whatever it is you’re trading.

You might end up getting a pin you like less than the one you traded — or maybe don’t even like at all. It’s all part of the thrill, though!
Don’t Try To Trade More Than 2 Pins Per Board or Cast Member
When you’re trading with a pin board or directly Cast Member, don’t get greedy! Don’t try to trade more than two pins per board or Cast Member.

Save some pins for the rest of the collectors!
Keep Photos of Your Collection
Certain pins are part of collections or series, and you might be inclined to try and collect the whole thing by trading. If you’re trying to complete a collection, find a photo of the full collection and make a note of what you already have.

Keep this info on your phone so you don’t accidentally trade for a pin you already have!
Know Where the BEST Pins Are Hiding
Pin Traders at Disney Springs is essentially the pin equivalent of the Emporium at Magic Kingdom, meaning you can find pretty much any pin you’re looking for there, as long as it’s one Disney still sells.

If there’s a specific pin you’re looking to purchase and not trade, chances are you can probably find it at Pin Traders!

Mention please don’t buy pins online. And don’t go to the parks and trade them. If you look at these boards they are all the same fake pins. I don’t trade anymore because of the saturation of fake pins.
