NEWS: Disney Will Stream Its HUGE D23 Panel Online…but There’s a Catch

OK, gamers. We need to talk. Over the years, Disney has designed all kinds of video games. There was Disney Infinity, Epic Mickey, and even Kingdom Hearts. But now, Disney is going big. Thanks to a new partnership, Disney fans are about to play some epic new games in a new universe. This isn’t your grandma’s arcade.

Back in February, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Disney partnered with Epic Games, the company that created the popular game Fortnite. Since then, we haven’t heard much about what this Disney X Fortnite duo had in mind, but we might be getting a BIG clue soon.

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is happening between August 9th and August 11th. This event is expected to produce some BIG news about Disney parks, experiences, movies, streaming, and more.

But recently, we got some interesting news. One of the BIG panels happening during D23 is called Disney Horizons. It’s the Disney Experiences Showcase, so we’re expecting news about Disney parks and experiences, a.k.a. hotel and theme park news! Well, Disney announced that you will be able to stream Disney Horizons in Fortnite on August 10th at 8:30PM PT, 11:30PM ET.

Say WHAT?! That’s right — the showcase will stream exclusively in Fortnite, and you can join by using island code 7908-6413-2516 in the game. Note that the stream in the game will start after the showcase ends at the Honda Center. Doors will open at 10:30PM ET, and the stream starts at 11:30PM ET.

Disney’s partnership with Fortnite is expected to bring new games and entertainment to the Epic Games platform, featuring characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar, and more.

Bob Iger previously explained his decision, stating, “When you look at where Gen Alpha, Gen Z, and even millennials are spending their time, gaming is important.”

Iger also said, “Our new relationship with Epic Games will create a universe that integrates Disney’s storytelling into the Fortnite game.” In the new universe, players will be able to shop, watch, and play.
