We Just Discovered a Disney World Refillable Mug HACK!

Are you making the most out of your Disney World vacations?

We talk a lot about the local Disney World hotels, but do you know about the Disney beach resort two hours outside of Disney World? Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is along Florida’s Treasure Coast and provides that patented Disney charm outside the confines of the Disney bubble. It also provides a special refillable mug hack that you should know about!

Over at the Vero Beach Resort, you’ll find the Wind and Waves Market which offers things like Mickey-shaped pretzels, churros, DOLE Whip, and refillable mugs!

These mugs, formally called Rapid Fill Mugs, are $21.99 and give you unlimited refills of soda, tea, and coffee during your stay.

These mugs have their limitations, as they can only be refilled at the resorts and don’t work in the Disney Parks. While they are eligible to be refilled at any Disney World resort, their park limitations have made this an item you might not necessarily need while on vacation. With that said, the mugs at Vero Beach might be an exception.

At the Disney World hotels, the mug gives you refills for a stay length of up to 14 days. However, the Vero Beach mugs have an even longer window.

We purchased a mug on July 31st this year and found out we could enjoy free refills until August 28th, significantly longer than the usual 14-day window. According to a Cast Member we spoke to, if your trip is longer than the allotted time, Wind and Waves Market can adjust your refill eligibility period.

The only downside to this rule is that if you take your mug to other Disney World hotels, you will have to abide by their 14-day rule. In the case of our purchase, our refills would expire 14 days after July 31st at those hotels.

Some downsides to refillable mugs are obvious: You can’t use the perk in the parks, you have to load up on your beverage of choice before you leave the hotel, and you have to wait a long period of time to wash it. Refill stations at Disney World can also be few and far between. 

Fortunately, that last issue isn’t as prominent at Vero Beach. While the only refill station is at Wind and Waves Market, the store is conveniently located between the pool and beach, close to Eb and Flo’s rentals, Portholes Mini Golf, and the main lobby. All in all, it’s a pretty centralized location and easily accessible.

With the intangibles being easier to swallow and the fact that this is a super solid souvenir, it’s hard not to look at the refillable mugs at Vero Beach in better esteem than those sold on the Disney World property.

Edit: We recently took a trip to Vero Beach in April 2025, and we are sad to report that Rapid Fill Mugs will now follow Disney World’s 14-day rule. The good news is that your mug can still be used at Disney World for up to 14 days after your initial purchase.
