UPDATE: Construction Walls Come DOWN for EPCOT’s Newest Attraction!

We’re starting to come into the final stages of EPCOT’s massive transformation and this recent update has us beside ourselves with excitement.

We can see it now!

We’ve swooned at how magnificent it looks during the daytime with its vibrant colors (which look even cooler at night), and have even spotted evidence of the new Encanto-inspired show that’s set to debut when we can get a bird’s eye view, but now, things are getting ready to change!

While most of EPCOT’s major construction has been completed, the main feature of World Celebration outside of the garden area is the CommuniCore Hall and Plaza. We’ve been patiently combing over every single update to this huge building that was planned for festival offerings, an all-new show, and more, so it should come as a surprise to no one that when we finally saw a major construction update to this place, that we’d have to tell you about it ASAP!

The CommuniCore Hall and Plaza at EPCOT is planned to be a big part of EPCOT’s daily activities and attractions in the near future but that didn’t stop it from turning heads already!

Just days ago, Disney previewed a sneak peek of what the Mickey & Friends meet and greet area will look like inside the building, and shortly after Cast Member previews were made available for those who were fast enough to snag the opportunity.

That doesn’t seem to be all that Disney World had to surprise us with though! Overnight, the walls surrounding this ginormouse building and plaza have been taken away revealing its full form to everyone who walks by! While we still aren’t able to walk inside the building until it officially opens on June 10th, 2024, it’s nice to finally get to take in the beauty of the entire building without construction walls around it. Here’s what this area of EPCOT looks like now!

Walls are coming down!

Since the building isn’t open and there aren’t walls up now to keep folks from getting too close just yet while the finishing touches are added, hedges and shrubbery have been added as a barrier to the outside around parts of the building.

No more huge walls

We already knew there would be some cool murals found around the outside of the building but this gives us our first full glimpse of a few Disney characters like Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie out on former rides you would have found in EPCOT of old. It seems that metal switchback lines have already been installed for when they’re officially open along with signs for a standby line and Lightning Lane line.

CommuniCore Hall’s side entrance looks as radiant as ever in its all-white get-up (except when it lights up at night) and makes us so eager to step foot inside finally!

We’ve seen them from the monorail but this was the first time we’ve been able to clearly spot the ground tile artwork out front of the building which suspiciously looks a lot like Spaceship Earth, the park’s iconic attraction.

What’s that on the ground?

Across the opposite side of the walkway, you might think this is just a massive structure with little to no accord with the CommuniCore Hall building.

However, we’ve spotted water grates that may suggest that once we finally see this area officially opened, we could be looking at a neat fountain of some sort.

Could this be for catching water?

So, it’s clear to see there’s still a lot to be answered about CommuniCore Hall once it’s finally opened and we’re able to experience everything it has to offer, but until then, this was a great surprise to walk into!

We’ll be bringing you along for all of the exciting happenings around EPCOT once CommuniCore Hall finally opens! Be sure you’re following us at AllEars so you don’t miss a beat of anything new!
