Wait, WHAT?! Disney Is Hosting an EXCLUSIVE ‘Swim-In’ Movie?

For many Disney fans, the love of all things House of Mouse began with a classic movie.

No matter what your favorite iconic Disney film might be, chances are we can all agree that some just stand the test of time. And, Disney is preparing to celebrate a very big milestone for one movie, in particular — and you can be part of it!

Fans of The Little Mermaid, this one is for you! D23 is hosting a 35th Anniversary Swim-in screening of the animated Disney classic to celebrate the film.

On June 8th, join Disney and Street Food Cinema at the Hansen Dam Aquatic Center in Law View Terrace, California for the “ultimate ‘swim-in’ screening celebration.” Swim around and flip your fins in the largest pool in the United States while enjoying the iconic movie.

But, if being in the water and watching a movie doesn’t sound like fun to you, D23 Members will also have reserved beach access and seating areas close to the movie screen. Not only that, but this special event will include food trucks, a special pre-screening presentation, a commemorative event gift, and “more fishy-fun surprises!”

D23 The Ultimate Fan Event

D23 Members will enjoy early entry to the Hansen Dam Aquatic Center starting at 5PM PT. The film will begin at approximately 8PM PT, with a special pre-screening presentation all about The Little Mermaid.

And, speaking of Little Mermaid updates, The Voyage of the Little Mermaid as we know it will NOT return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s closed now, and Disney has confirmed that this show has permanently closed to make way for an updated version. As of now, we don’t have many details, but we’ll let you know when Disney announces more!
