Universal has had some BIG announcements lately including opening dates for a new land, and 2 new nighttime shows opening soon which we can hardly wait to see!

But, news on the Epic Universe front has been a little quiet lately, so we decided to do some looking around ourselves! We’ve noticed some peculiar construction going on previously in the upcoming Super Nintendo World land, but now we’re getting an even better picture of how this land can be different than what you can already experience!
While we wait for even MORE big news about what we can officially expect at Universal’s Epic Universe, it seems that at least some of that news may be a “barrel of monkeys” of fun.

Since Universal’s announcement that Super Nintendo World would be making its way to Universal Orlando, we’ve been keeping a close watch for anything we could spot that would be DIFFERENT than what’s already debuted at Universal Studios Hollywood. But, since Epic Universe is still being built we’ve turned our eye to the sky for a little bit of help getting a higher view. Recently, Bioreconstruct posted an aerial photo of a section of Super Nintendo World rumored to be themed for a Donkey Kong-inspired coaster ride.

On the surface, it appears that one of the sections of the ride where you launch from will essentially blast you out of a barrel (just like in the video games) and continue on the coaster track through a run-down temple. Additionally, there’s some scaffolding to the right side of this track that is still under construction. Bioreconstruct stated that it appears to be “for sculpting a character face at top of a waterfall.”

If you look to the top left of the photo, Bioreconstruct had some additional insight into what we were looking at here. “Golden concrete has been cast at ground level.” which signals to us this could be the start of the ride’s area and continue with the theming for this particular section.

While we might have some fun taking a look at the construction progress way up in the sky, there’s still yet to be an official announcement from Universal about more details and the rides or attractions that will be built in this land.
