Are you ready to get into the Mardi Gras spirit?

Universal Orlando Resort Mardi Gras: International Flavors of Carnaval 2024 is currently happening, and it has been exciting, to say the least! The event runs from February 3rd through April 7th, 2024, and is home to several shows, events, special theming, food, and more. We even got a look at this year’s Mardi Gras parade — take a look!
The parade features several new floats along the streets of Universal Studios Florida in a show inspired by New Orleans and global Carnaval celebrations. You can even catch beads while you experience new floats. Check it out!

After the first float, the five new floats were featured at the beginning of the parade. The first one was a Universal Krewe of Dionysus float. This guy was MASSIVE and so elaborate. Look at all those detailed carvings — they went ALL OUT with this float.

The next float had the massive court jesters on it — how fun!

The third float was an explosion of color! It features flowers, stars, and mushrooms of all different colors. There was even a GIANT volcano on the back. These floats are so fun to look at, aren’t they?

The next float takes us to a gorgeous green forest filled with mushrooms, butterflies, and tree canopies. Wherever this magical land is located, we want to go there.

And the last new float takes us up into the sky and clouds with hot air balloons, birds, and more.

There are SO many exciting floats to check out during this parade, but we don’t want to spoil the whole thing for you!

Can’t get enough of the Mardi Gras spirit? Did you know you can actually RIDE in those parade floats? It’s true! You can make float reservations in-park via the Virtual Line experience in the Official Universal Orlando App and “toss beads to the crowd while you make your way through the streets for an unforgettable time.” Spots are limited each night, so be sure to be prompt when trying to make a Virtual Line reservation.

As previously mentioned, the Mardi Gras celebration will continue through April 7th, 2024, and the event map can be viewed here.
