This is the year that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will finally open in Magic Kingdom and Disneyland and we’re so excited.

We’ve already got some details about the story for the ride, and we’ve been following the construction since Splash Mountain closed to make way for the new attraction. We’ve seen some pretty big updates recently, too, and wanted to share them with you.
One of the first things we’ve noticed recently is just how GREEN Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is now in Disney World. So much greenery has been added to the outside of the ride, along with some pretty flowers. It’s certainly looking DRASTICALLY different from Splash Mountain now.

We also spotted a NEW addition in the form of a weather vane on Magic Kingdom’s version of the ride, which is on top of the building next to the mountain (the building riders go into after the big drop).

Disney also shared a closer look at the weather vane as it was being installed. It was handcrafted by Darryl Reeves, a master blacksmith in Louisiana, whose work can be spotted all over New Orleans. How’s that for authentic?

Our most recent photos show off plenty of signs of construction around the area. It’s clearly a major work in progress, but a lot has changed in a pretty short amount of time!

We’ve also been keeping a close eye on the queue to see if any changes have been made there yet, but we’re not seeing anything new.

Over in Disneyland, we noticed that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is looking DIFFERENT than the one in Disney World. The water tower has finally gone up, but it’s been slightly altered in Disneyland. The water tower in Disneyland has a white background with the “Tiana’s Foods” logo in the same color as the water tower. This is the exact opposite of how the colors are done on the water tower in Disney World.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will feature a story that picks up after the events of The Princess and the Frog. Guests will be joining Tiana and her friends on a musical adventure as they prepare for the Mardi Gras party Tiana is hosting for the people of New Orleans. But the party is “missing a key ingredient,” and it will be up to us to go into the bayou to help Tiana find it.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates to the ride, so check back with AllEars again soon.

This ride will flop harder than the Stitch Escape and “Star Wars” hotel. Bring back Splash Mountain.
