Blizzard Beach Has FINALLY Reopened in Disney World — See What’s Different!

We’re nearing winter so naturally, it’s time to talk about…water parks?!

Summit Plummet

Luckily this water park has the perfect theme for winter. That’s right — Blizzard Beach is finally reopening! We haven’t been able to step foot inside this park for months (since March, to be exact), so let’s go inside and see what has changed!

We’re spending the day out at the newly reopened Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park and we can’t wait to tell you EVERYTHING! As you walk towards the entrance, you’re greeted by the signs out front showing the park’s opening hours.

Hello, Blizzard Beach

If you haven’t already purchased your tickets, you can stop by the ticket windows just before the entrance and grab them here. There’s a pricing board on display to help you decide which ticket is the one for you.

Now that we’ve grabbed our tickets, it was time to enter! Once you get scanned into the park, you’re given the Disney holiday greeting of falling snoap (what we lovingly call the fake snow Disney uses) with a cute photo op close by!

Just hear those sleigh bells now!

It’s so much fun to see it falling around you!

Snoap is falling!

As we were walking in, there was a sign showcasing a premium experience that’s offered on select days at Blizzard Beach called Painting in the Snow.

We got to the park fairly early but the crowd felt pretty steady for even the early hours.

Even the crowds that had already made their way to Melt Away Bay seemed fairly light…

… but we totally expect it to pick up through the afternoon so getting here early is an ideal start to the day to grab your lounge chair.

Last year, Blizzard Beach added some new Frozen-themed touches to the park. They looked the same on our latest visit!

Tike’s Peak

And there are several fun spots to stop and take pictures with around the park like this snowman family!

Say “cheese”!

We even spotted a (not so) hidden Mickey!

So serene!

We got there a bit early to check out everything around the park so we had to wait a bit while the food and snacks opened up. You can stop at places like the Cooling Hut for a quick snack…

I.C. Expeditions is a great place to grab an icy beverage…

…and even Frostbite Freddy’s can hit the spot.

Lottawatta Lodge was also open already with a few folks visiting to grab their mid-morning snack.

But, we noticed a few new offerings at the Warming Hut at this reopening.

There are a few options for wings in different flavors like Garlic-Parmesean or Honey-Sriracha…

…and you can also have them served in a souvenir pail…

We also noticed a new drink at Joffrey’s called the Frozen Polar Paradise.

New drink!

As we were getting hungry, we decided to try a few other NEW offerings too. We stopped by Arctic Expedition for some churros!

New churros

First, we opted for the S’mores Churro for $8.99. This snack is made of churro pieces topped with graham cracker crumbs, marshmallow whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and toasted mini marshmallows.

S’Mores Churro

Since this one was made of smaller churro chunks it pulled apart easily.

YUM!

We also decided to try out the Banana Split Churro for $8.99 and boy did they LOAD this one down!

This one could easily have been shared with another person where there’s so much piled in here.

Fresh bite

They both were pretty fresh churros, but we preferred the Banana Split version because of its fresher taste paired with the fruit which helped balance it out a bit. The s’mores was great in its own right, but it was richer and a tad sweeter given all of those sauces.

The opening temperature for the morning was 71 degrees and sunny so it felt like a great day for Blizzard Beach to reopen not being too hot.

Toboggan Racers

Typhoon Lagoon is now closed as Blizzard Beach reopens. This has been the theme over the past few years — Disney World has only had one water park open at a time.
