The Disney Movie Sequel You've Been Waiting For Is FINALLY Happening

Disney fans, buckle up — it’s happening! Another new movie could be coming soon, and we’re already counting down the days.

Lately, it seems like the trend in Hollywood is to make reboots, remakes, and sequels for some of the most beloved franchises. Now, we have an update about a popular film that has been begging for a sequel for quite some time — and it looks like we’ve finally gotten that confirmation!

We’re talking about the Freaky Friday movie! Kudos to you if you guessed it. Previously, we shared that Jamie Lee Curtis had been subtly (or not so subtly) hinting at a possible sequel.

When Curtis spoke with Variety earlier this year, she said, “It’s going to happen. Without saying there’s anything officially happening, I’m looking at you in this moment and saying, ‘Of course it’s going to happen.’ It’s going to happen.”

And now, we have an official update from Deadline. Disney is currently developing a sequel to Freaky Friday, with both Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan expected to return to their roles. The script for the sequel is being written by Elyse Hollander.
