50 Things from Disney World’s 50th Anniversary That Are Sticking Around!

If you could have one thing from the 50th Celebration at Disney World stay what would it be?

The 50th Anniversary has ended!

Would you choose the Tropical Serenade, the 50th Anniversary Dole Whip, to stick around? What about the 50th medallion on the castle? While a lot of things have already begun to change now that the celebration has ended, there is one thing sticking around.

For the 50th Anniversary, Disney World debuted a collection of golden character statues around the four parks called the Fab 50. There are 50 golden statues featuring your favorite characters scattered around the parks. We have now learned that those will be staying in place.

Gold character statues

This may be due to the fact that MagicBand+ can interact with these statues. If you have a MagicBand+, you can activate these statues by waving or sometimes just walking by them to hear that character talk, play music or make a noise.

Disney has not specified if the 50th medallions will stay on the statues or not. These statues are fun to hunt down and interact with so we’re glad to see them staying put for now.

  1. I’m so glad to hear that the 50th Anniversary statues are sticking around. Had a great time hunting for all of them on my last visit. Tough choice on my favorite…Mickey and Minnie of course, but they were all great.
