Star Wars and Throwback-Themed After Dark Events Announced for Disneyland

We’ve got some exciting news for Disneyland fans.

Disneyland Resort had already announced some After Hours (or, as they call them After Dark) events for 2023 — Princess Nite and Sweethearts’ Nite. But the fun is NOT stopping there. Disneyland is adding two more themed Disneyland After Dark ‘nites’ to their Spring offerings and we’ve got all the details!

Disneyland is adding two more themes to its After Dark events in 2023. Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Nite and Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite will be BACK in 2023. We actually saw a Throwback Nite introduced years ago, and we’ve seen Star Wars Nite offered in the past too, so we have a feeling some fans will be excited to see these return.

These After Dark events can be very popular especially since they include exclusive snacks, specialty merchandise, unique photo ops, and more.

The Disneyland After Dark events start with a three-hour pre-party mix-in starting at 6PM PT at Disneyland Park. Then, the private party begins at 9PM and runs until 1AM PT. During that time, guests are invited to ride select popular attractions that remain open.

And attending guests even receive unlimited digital downloads of Disney PhotoPass photos taken while enjoying the party. Plus, there are commemorative keepsakes — souvenir credentials and event guide maps– and more to take home so you’ll always remember your event experience.

Disneyland Throwback Nite will take place on April 18th and 20th, 2023, at Disneyland Park. Here’s what you need to know:

• This themed night will be for all you cool cats looking to sport your best 50s and 60s style.
• With a cool nod to the Disneyland of old, you’ll even be treated to some familiar sounds and sights from Disneyland park in its earliest days.
• Appearances by Mickey Mouse and friends in retro costumes, and a few other nostalgic characters, are sure to make for some epic photo opportunities.
• Guests will also get an exclusive presentation of the “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks which were original to Disneyland in 1957, dance parties, snacks and treats inspired by what was offered back in 1955, vintage photo backdrops of attractions and posters from long gone beloved attractions captured by Photopass photographers, and more.

Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite will offer themed offerings of its own. The dates for the Star Wars Nites will be May 2nd, 4th, 8th, and 11th. Here’s what you need to know:

• You’ll be able to live out your Star Wars adventures will be an exclusive viewing of “Star Wars: Celebrate the Nite” fireworks which are set to Star Wars music.
• Plus, there will be character appearances by Captain Phasma and Stormtroopers as they do the March of the First Order in Tomorrowland.
• You’ll also find other travelers, like Tusken Raiders and Jawas.
• And there will be instructional lightsaber demonstrations to channel your inner Jedi strength, and exclusive photo backdrops depicting both heroes and villains throughout the galaxy.
• Galactic churros and other out-of-this-world sweets will also be offered throughout the night.

You’ll want to act quickly for these tickets though! Presales for a limited number of tickets will open on February 21st, 2023 to Disneyland Magic Key holders (no earlier than 9AM PT) on Disneyland.com.

On February 23rd, 2023 (no earlier than 9AM PT) tickets will go on sale to the general public. Tickets for these could go quickly, so you’ll want to act FAST!
