Be Careful of This CLOSURE When Planning Your Disney World Trip

While it’s amazing that Disney is constantly renovating, reimagining, and performing routine maintenance to ensure that the parks and resort remain magical for years to come, these changes can hinder your daily plans if you aren’t careful.

If you’ll be staying at the Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort or Disney’s Polynesian Resort during your next Disney trip — or if you plan to visit these resort hotels throughout your stay — you might want to be wary of this change.

The walkway between Magic Kingdom and the Grand Floridian and Polynesian will be closing February 13th, 2023 due to construction and is not expected to open until later this spring.

Grand Floridian Walkway

A re-opening date has not yet been announced, but in the meantime, guests are able to use the monorail and boat launches to get to and from Magic Kingdom.

The walkway closure is due to the ongoing renovation of the Grand Floridian Resort, as changes are continuously being made to the resort so that it can keep its classy turn-of-the-century atmosphere. The walkway closure prevents guests from walking through an active construction zone as workers move to begin renovating a different part of the resort.

Although things like this don’t happen super often, they do happen occasionally and it’s best to stay in the loop! Here at AllEars, we keep track of major Disney World changes and closures, so make sure to follow along for more.
